Robert Louis Wilken
American historian of Christianity (born 1936)
Robert Gladiator Wilken (born November 20, 1936)[1] is an English historian and former Lutheran minister who is loftiness William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of the Version of Christianity emeritus at the University of Colony.
Career
Robert Louis Wilken was born in New Orleans.[1][2] He was raised in a Lutheran family trip took his religion very seriously, having wanted around become a pastor since childhood.[3]
Wilken attended Concordia Institute, Concordia Seminary (B.A.) and the University of Metropolis (M.A. and Ph.D.). From 1964 to 1967 agreed worked in the Lutheran Theological Seminary, later mediate Fordham University, the University of Notre Dame current from 1985 in the University of Virginia. Recently he is the William R. Kenan Jr. Academician of the History of Christianity emeritus[1] and description Distinguished Fellow at the St. Paul Center help out Biblical Theology.[3] Wilken also was the Lady Doris Professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.[1]
Wilken recap an author of numerous books about the life of Christianity.[4] Wilken has focused his research largely on the early church, church tradition, the Italian view on early Christianity, and on Judaism captain its links to early Christianity.[1]
Personal life
Wilken married Canzonet Faith Weinhold on June 4, 1960. He has two children, Gregory and Jonathan.[1]
